JAG Building Group is a growing General Contracting firm based out of Cape Coral, Florida. We focus on the retail/restaurant sector mainly in tenant improvements, renovations, and corporate upgrades.

This position will entail managing small to large commercial retail/restaurant projects across the United States. This will include organizing subcontractors, contract administration, working with clients and managing supervisors and staff on site. A competitive wage based on experience and ability will be negotiated. This position is based out of our Cape Coral, Florida office. If you are not local to this area, you must be willing to relocate.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of commercial project management experience and a solid knowledge of Building Codes and standard construction contracts. You will also possess sound interpersonal skills, a practical/technical mindset and a willingness to learn. Proficiency with MS Office (Project,Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Project will be required. Strong organizational skills, methodical thinking and attention to detail are essential assets as well.

Project Management duties will include:

  • Preparation of project schedule
  • Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, schedule, possible cost saving measures and potential constructions challenges
  • Have confidence in own ability to intelligently communicate with design team/ client, as well as effectively lead the trades
  • Expedite all shop drawings and approvals
  • Monitor and maintain the construction schedule on a weekly basis
  • Work closely with the Site Supervisor of the day to day activities of the site
  • Ensure the Site Supervisor is enforcing proper safety techniques
  • Raise and discuss relevant issues at the jobsite meetings. Prepare and issues minutes of all weekly meetings
  • Inform the client/ consultant of any design errors, discrepancies, or omissions contained within the drawings
  • Expedite and change orders that may arise, maintain log for client review and approval
  • Ensure completion of all testing and inspections and track all as required
  • Issue monthly progress drawings and invoicing to client and final holdbacks
  • Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control
  • Control and monitor labor, material and equipment expenses
  • Prepare monthly cost forecasting summaries
  • Ensure that ‘as built’ drawings are prepared on an ongoing basis by all trades during the construction period and issue final close outs to consultant/ owner accordingly
  • Ensure all inspections are performed and passed
  • Prepare and expedite project deficiency list
